Welcome to the web site for “The Going To The Sun Rally”, a 1,000+ mile vintage car journey across Montana. This is a drivers Rally so come prepared for fantastic roads, several days of long drives, drop dead views and great people, and, did I mention the  "music".

This vintage vehicle rally celebrates vintage automobiles and the beauty and the freedom of the state of Montana and its people. The rally has been designed to provide a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere for the participants and the people encountered along the way.

In different years this vintage automobile rally will take you through Montana to two of the world’s most important National Parks – Yellowstone and Glacier and across some of the most beautiful Big Sky Country of Montana. In different years we will visit neighboring states, other National Parks and even a foreign country now and then.  Think Maple Syrup, not tequila.

This is a charity event and all of the proceeds from the rally each year go to benefit a number of Montana organizations and causes.

• • The Montana Highway Patrol Association - Wives and Children fund; 2005 contribution $8,000; 2006 $24,000
• • A scholarship for vocational education programs for high schools;2005 contribution $1,000; 2006 $3,000
  
• • A grant to the Blackfeet Community College for cultural programs; 2005 $1,000
• • An environmental grant to the Clark Fork Coalition; 2005 $1,000; 2006 $3,000
• A grant to the Saint Patricks Rural Medical Program; 2006 $3,000
• A grant to the rural medical Hospital in Ennis; 2006 $1,000

Total charity contributions over the two years 2005 and 2006 has been $45,000.  2007 was almost twice as successful!  Numbers to come soon.

 

 

As a participant in this event you and your co-driver will have the full support of a dedicated team of Rally support personnel:

• • We will help you with advance storage arrangements for your car for out of area drivers –  (Check on the Transport Services here)
• • All hotel arrangements will be taken care of and you will just show up and get your “key” for overnight stays in the best historic Montana Hotels.
• • All meal arrangements will be taken care of and breakfast, lunch and dinner meals will be coordinated with your days driving.
• • Your luggage will be picked up from your rooms in the morning and delivered to your room at the next overnight stop.
• • First class entertainment will be provided on selected evenings.
• • An Emergency car towing and a mechanic to assist with any “fast fixes” will be provided.
• • We are coordinating this event with the Montana Highway Patrol and National Park Police to help assure a safe and enjoyable journey.
• • Photography services will be provided to capture the event, you and your car. Photographs will be available to you if you want to “document” your adventure.
• • Daily road condition evaluations and coordination with road crews will be done.
• We will have an informed team available along the way to assist you.
